
Sarah Mubenga
Executive DirectorSarah Mubenga is the Executive Director of Together for Congo, a nonprofit dedicated to raising funds for schools in the Democratic Republic of Congo. Born and raised in Raleigh, North Carolina, with Congolese heritage, Sarah is passionate about education, community development, and creating opportunities for children in need. With a Master of Education and a background in teaching and program coordination, she brings strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills to the organization. Through Together for Congo, Sarah is committed to empowering the next generation by providing access to quality education and essential resources.

Dr. Pascal Mubenga, PhD
Dr. Pascal Mubenga is a retired educator. Dr. Pascal Mubenga has enjoyed a successful career in public education spanning over 28 years in North Carolina. He served as Superintendent of Franklin County and Durham Public Schools. He also served as a District Transformation Coach, a School Transformation Team Lead, and School Transformation Coach with the North Carolina Department of Public Instruction for four years. Immediately preceding his work with NCDPI, he was the principal at Jones Senior High School in Jones County, North Carolina, from 2007 through 2011. Dr. Mubenga has also previously served as an assistant principal in Franklin County and math teacher in Johnston County. He was also a math teacher at Chewning Middle School in Durham for three years. He began his career in public education as a math teacher for the Nash-Rocky Mount Schools.

Dr. Ruth Reynard, PhD
Accomplished and innovative senior level academic executive administrator and experienced instructor in various academic sectors and subject areas. Also experienced curriculum developer for various international programs.
Reliable, responsible, creative, and vigilant leader who interfaces effectively with executives, administrators, and staff, in order to achieve training and instructional goals.
Ruth has a PhD in Educational theory from the Ontario Institute for Studies in Education, University of Toronto.

Stephen Reynard
Stephen Reynard is an experienced sport for development and peace (SDP) professional and is currently serving as the Sport Project Coordination Officer at the UN Refugee Agency, UNHCR, in Geneva, Switzerland. Stephen has worked at the intersection between sport, development and peacebuilding for over 12 years with numerous entities globally including, NGOs, universities, development and UN agencies. He is the (co)author and editor of several manuals, articles, chapters and essays on topics related to SDP which focus on the contribution of sport to peacebuilding objectives and promoting socially cohesive communities.
Stephen has an MA in International Peace and Conflict Resolution with a focus on NGO management from Arcadia University.

Beth Meadows
Beth Meadows is a veteran Nurse Practitioner with over 15 years of experience serving communities across North Carolina. She currently serves as the Assistant Director in the Department of Immunization , where she continues to advocate for compassionate, patient-centered care. Beth holds both a Bachelor’s and Master’s degree in Nursing from East Carolina University.

Venessa Spearman
Venessa Spearman is senior director of a children’s hospital research institute. She brings a wealth of experience as an executive with experience in healthcare administration, as well as K-12 and higher education. Her career has focused on improving the lives of children and adults through community engagement, focusing on education and healthcare. Venessa holds a master’s degree in public administration and a bachelor’s degree in business administration with a concentration in human resources from the University of Memphis.

Dr. Chris Meadows, PhD
Dr. Chris Meadows is a veteran educator with extensive experience in North Carolina’s public schools. Over the course of his career, he has served as a teacher, assistant principal, and principal. Currently, he serves as the Director of Social Services in Jones County, NC, where he continues his commitment to supporting children and families. Dr. Meadows holds a Doctorate Degree in Education from East Carolina University.

Dr. Edward Alexander, PhD
Dr. Edward Alexander is a seasoned university administrator with more than 30 years of leadership in education across Georgia, Florida and North Carolina. He currently serves as Associate Vice Provost for Enrollment Management and Director of Admission at the University of the Virgin Islands, where he spearheads strategies to attract and retain a diverse student body. Dr. Alexander holds a EdD in Education from Capella University.
